Sound familiar?

You're not broken. You've just been given broken tools. Here's what I hear from women before we work together.

🍕

"I ate 'bad' today, so tomorrow I'll be better."

You're "good" all day, then eat everything in sight at 9pm. You wake up promising today will be different. It never sticks — not because you lack willpower, but because restriction always backlashes.

🍷

"I deserve this glass of wine after the day I had."

Wine o'clock crept in as a way to decompress. Now you wonder if it's a habit, a crutch, or just who you are — and you're not sure you like the answer.

🪞

"I'll be happy when I finally lose the weight."

You've tied your self-worth to a number on the scale for so long, you can't remember what it felt like to just… live in your body without judging it.

😩

"I'm tired of being at war with myself."

You spend more mental energy on food and your body than on anything else in your life. Work, relationships, creativity — all crowded out by a voice that never shuts up. That's not normal. And it's not permanent.

👩‍👧

"I want to model something better for my kids."

You catch yourself making food comments in front of your children and cringe. You know this cycle doesn't need to continue — but how do you break it?

"I want to feel like myself again."

Not a smaller, stricter version of yourself — just you. Clear-headed, energized, at home in your body, and actually enjoying the life you're living.

Intuitive Eating isn't another diet. It's the last framework you'll ever need.

Created by dietitians Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, Intuitive Eating is a science-backed, evidence-based approach with over 125 studies to its name. It's about learning to trust your body again — the way you were born knowing how to.

Diet culture has spent decades convincing you that your body can't be trusted, that hunger is the enemy, and that willpower is a moral virtue. Intuitive Eating says: that's all wrong.

1
Reject the Diet Mentality Let go of the rules, the plans, and the shame that comes with "falling off"
2
Honor Your Hunger Your hunger is not weakness — it's biology. Learn to listen and respond
3
Make Peace with Food No more forbidden foods. No more guilt. All foods fit
4
Challenge the Food Police Silence the inner critic that labels every bite as "good" or "bad"
5
Respect Your Body You deserve dignity in the body you have right now — not after
6–10
+ 5 more principles we'll explore together Including joyful movement, gentle nutrition, and discovering true satisfaction

"Intuitive Eating is not a diet. There are no food rules, no meal plan, no 'eat this not that.' It is a framework that helps you rebuild trust with yourself."

🍹 It's not about hitting a "rock bottom"

You don't need to identify as an alcoholic or have a crisis moment to question your relationship with alcohol. Curiosity is enough to start.

🧠 Alcohol and body image are deeply linked

Research shows that many women use alcohol to quiet body shame, social anxiety, and the mental noise of diet culture. When one loosens its grip, the other often does too.

🌙 Grey-area drinking is real

Not every night, not every occasion, but often enough that you notice it. Enough that you wonder. That wondering? That's valuable data worth listening to.

👨‍👩‍👧 Motherhood is better without the hangover

More patience, better mornings, fewer regrets. Waking up clear-headed and present for your family is transformative — and it's within reach without willpower or white-knuckling.

🤝 You don't have to be "sober" forever

The sober-curious approach is about exploration, not labels. We build awareness and agency — so whatever you decide, it's a conscious, empowered choice.

What if alcohol is just diet culture's sneakier cousin?

Diet culture tells you that you're not enough — not thin enough, not disciplined enough, not good enough. For a lot of women, alcohol becomes the pressure valve. A way to feel lighter, softer, less at war with themselves.

But here's what we know: the shame underneath the wine glass is often the same shame that fuels the diet cycle. And when we address both — from the inside out — something remarkable happens.

"When I stopped drinking, something shifted that I hadn't expected — the way I related to food, my body, and myself started to change too. The clarity was remarkable. I wanted other women to have access to that same shift, and that's what led me to become a certified intuitive eating counselor. This work isn't something I stumbled into. It came directly out of my own life changing." — Kendra Maurer, RD

Hi, I'm Kendra —
and I've been where you are.

Registered Dietitian · Intuitive Eating Counselor · Mom · Recovered Diet-Culture Believer

I spent years believing that if I could just stick to the plan, the right diet, the right rules, the right amount of discipline — I'd finally feel okay about myself. I'd finally be enough. Spoiler: it didn't work. For anyone. Including me.

As a registered dietitian with a master's in health and human development, I had all the credentials. I also had the lived experience of a woman who had internalized every harmful message diet culture had to offer. Poor body image. A complicated relationship with food. And yes — a glass of wine (or two) to take the edge off at the end of a hard day.

When I stopped drinking, I didn't expect it to change everything — but it did. The way I saw food, my body, and my own worth all started to shift. That experience was so profound that I knew I had to find a way to help other women access it too. That's what led me to become a certified intuitive eating counselor. I realized: the freedom I found was bigger than just alcohol.

Now, as both a certified intuitive eating counselor and a certified alcohol-free coach, I help women do what I did — but with a guide who's walked it first. We approach food, body image, and alcohol not from restriction, but from radical self-compassion and curiosity.

I'm also a mom, and motherhood clarified everything for me. I wanted to fight less, be more present, sleep better, and model something different for my kids. The work I help you do? It changes your whole life — not just your relationship with food.

You might be wondering…

Here are the questions I hear most before women decide to work with me.

Not at all. The sober-curious approach is about exploring your relationship with alcohol — not committing to a label or a forever promise. Some of my clients end up going fully alcohol-free. Some cut back significantly. Some simply gain clarity and choice where before they felt like they had none. All of those are wins.

Intuitive Eating is evidence-based and designed to work with a wide range of relationships with food. I'll gather your full history during intake and tailor our work to what's appropriate for you. If at any point your needs fall outside what I can safely support, I'll refer you to the right care — I always put your wellbeing first.

I have to be honest with you: weight loss is not the goal of our work, and I won't promise it. Intuitive Eating research shows mixed outcomes on weight — what it consistently shows is reduced anxiety, improved body image, better mental health, and a healthier relationship with food. Some clients do lose weight over time. Some don't. What changes for everyone is the war in their head — and that turns out to matter a lot more.

Currently I operate as a private pay practice and do not accept insurance directly. Some clients are able to submit for reimbursement through HSA/FSA accounts or out-of-network benefits — I'm happy to provide superbills to support that. If cost is a barrier, reach out and we can have a conversation about options.

Great question. I'm a registered dietitian and certified coach, not a therapist — so our work is focused, practical, and behavioral rather than clinical or diagnostic. I love collaborating with therapists and physicians when a client has a treatment team. I also catch a lot of what doctors and therapists don't specialize in: the specific intersection of diet culture, food behaviors, body image, and alcohol. That's my niche.

100%. I hear this from almost every client before our first call. Our conversations start wherever you're comfortable. You don't have to share everything right away — we build trust first. I've also lived this personally, so there's no judgment in this space. Ever. The fact that you're nervous and still considering it? That's courage. I'll meet you right there.
